Ms. Marten has extensive experience in producing, editing, writing, marketing and
managing theatrical and film companies and productions.Her credits include working in creative,
business and production capacities within Walt Disney, Paramount, Crystal Sky
communications, Cine-Paris and Nine by Nine Productions, Soular Films and Actors
Repertory Theatre among others.She has
hands on knowledge and expertise in all sides of filmmaking and business
including the creation, administration and management of corporations,
non-profit entities, legal contracts and documentation.Tanya’s education includes Brandeis
University, Carnegie-Mellon, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts & the
University of Maryland.
Ms. Marten’s stage credits include Maria in The Sound
of Music, Peg, Supernormal Clutches, Yelena in Uncle Vanya,
Gwen in Fifth of July, Sarah in Guys & Dolls, Sister Mary
Amnesia in Nunsense, and Elizabeth in Richard III. Among
her TV/Film credits are Bowser Makes a Movie, Ed Wood, Clear
and Present Danger, Hollywood & Vine, Sex In The City and Brooklyn Bridge.
Ms. Marten studied at Carnegie-Mellon University, the
University of Maryland, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, London and has an
M.F.A. from Brandeis University. She is the author of Euphoric
Tendencies, an erotic romantic comedy which had its world premiere Off-Off
Broadway, NYC, in March, 2008. The film version of Euphoric Tendencies
is currently in pre-production with Soular Films. Principle photography
is scheduled to begin in the Fall, 2011.
Jonathan Marten, Vice
President
Over the past 30 years, Jonathan Marten has worked in almost every facet of the film
industry, both in front of, and behind the camera, as well as in theatre and
television.As Vice-President and
Creative Director of Parliament Intl.Corp., he was instrumental in developing the project that became
Atlantic Film Studios, the first full-service motion picture facility in the
Commonwealth of Virginia. As Vice-President of Atlantic Entertainment, he was instrumental in the distribution of such films as What Ever Happened
To..? starring Lynn and Vanessa Redgrave, In The Deep Woods, starring Anthony
Perkins, and Our Sons, starring Hugh Grant, Julie Andrews and Ann-Margret.Additionally he has worked on numerous films produced through
independent production companies Soular Films, Star Circle Pictures & the
Actors Repertory Theatre.
As a stage director, Mr. Marten has more than 50
productions to his directorial credit, including productions of Standing On
My Knees, the East Coast premiere of Supernormal Clutches, Social
Security, Tomfoolery, Blood Ties, Manly Men: An Evening Chock Full of Lies and
Testosterone (which he also starred in for the NYC run of the production), Supernormal
Clutches and the world premieres of Player's Joy, which he also
restaged for the film version, and the NYC production of Euphoric Tendencies.
As a film director, his erotic short, The
Line Between — which he both wrote and directed — was selected for
inclusion in both the Cinekink NY Festival of Erotic Film, as well as NYC’s
Chashama Film Festival.
Mr. Marten has taught acting and offered seminars for
companies around the country including New York, Virginia, Maryland and
Chicago. As an actor, his stage credits include the roles of Lenny Bruce,
in Lenny; Arnold Epstein in Neil Simon’s Biloxi Blues; Mozart in Amadeus;
Nick Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream; and his award-winning role as
Roy Cohn in Angels In America: Millennium Approaches. His TV/Film
credits include Spin City, In The Balance, Eddie, Celebrity, Stepmom, and a recurring role on The Edge of Night. Mr. Marten is
co-author of a screenplay, The Reel Life, a satire of the film industry,
now being developed by Soular Films.
Ethan Marten, Producer
Among Ethan Marten’s achievements and credentials are: Director of Development at
MaXaM Productions, and Executive Producer of the sci-fi thriller Atlantis Down;
he co-created, produced, and was 2nd unit director of Tanners Point, a
reality-based television series about life in a tanning salon. As co-founder of Star Circle Pictures Mr. Marten made Samaritan, Player's Joy, and Revolver. and served as Vice- President of Marketing for Atlantic
Film Studios, Virginia's first full-service motion picture studio, Vice
President of Marketing for Atlantic Entertainment Inc., distributor of such films as What
Ever Happened To..? starring Lynn and Vanessa Redgrave, In The Deep Woods,
starring Anthony Perkins, and Our Sons, starring Hugh Grant, Julie Andrews and
Ann-Margret.
Mr. Marten's acting credits include having played Irving Berlin on The Young Indian Jones Chronicles, as well as roles in the Whoopi Goldberg film, Eddie, the TV movie, Mother's Day, John Todd, Jr. in the American Experience film, Dolly Madison, as well as appearances in the TV series' Ghost Stories and The New Detectives.
James M. Collins II, Editor
Jim Collins has
shot and edited over ten films in conjunction with Soular Films and Actors
Repertory Theatre. He is also the audio and
visual production coordinator in the School of Communication at Loyola
University Chicago. Mr. Collins is co-producer and editor of the independent films Invocation: Doppelganger, End Game, Sword of Hearts, and House
of Black Wings. He is also the Director and editor of the award winning documentary short for the
Chicago Association of Retarded Citizens; and consultant,
producer and editor for McKinsey & Company videos.
